Global warming 'undeniable,' report says-> 1

Submitted by BergZ
BergZ writes "Scientists from around the world are providing even more evidence of global warming.
"A comprehensive review of key climate indicators confirms the world is warming and the past decade was the warmest on record," the annual State of the Climate report declares.
Compiled by more than 300 scientists from 48 countries, including Canada, the report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said its analysis of 10 indicators that are "clearly and directly related to surface temperatures, all tell the same story: Global warming is undeniable.""

Voting on facts doesn't change whether they're true or not, regardless of what the majority chooses.

Third world countries don't have any greater chance of the stupid dying while the smart live and outbreed them. Entirely the opposite is universally observable. In all countries, but in third world ones even more.

Yes, yes they are. My old school has a few electronic media degrees. Once upon a time, this meant we had a great radio broadcast program, and a frequency to go with it. The school had an actual broadcast studio on par with many of the local for profit stations in terms of equipment. They even had a separate recording studio set up for interviews and production material, or just so one person could be broadcasting live and others could still learn in the secondary studio. Now the school doesn't have that frequency. They weren't technically allowed to sell the frequency, because it was licensed for educational use, but they've rented it out for an unspecified number of years (the speculation is that its gone for at least 20 years). So yes, schools will whore out their frequencies, to the detriment of students.

Building will repair itself during an earthquake

Submitted by Kate Seamer
Kate Seamer writes "A US$18.6 million "self-healing" house will be able to resist earthquakes by sealing cracks in its walls and monitoring seismic vibrations. The walls of the house contain nano-polymer particles designed to convert into liquid when under pressure, flow into cracks, and solidify. This would theoretically stabilize the structure after severe seismic trauma. Funded by the European Union, and using technology from Leed University's NanoManufacturing Institute, the house is to be constructed in Greece by 2010."

Intel To Launch CPU Graphics

Submitted by Danny
Danny writes "Wolfdale and Penryn processors will be launched this Q3 and Q4 respectively by Intel. But the shocking news is Intel will be integrating graphics solutions into its CPUs which will be manufactured on the 45nm process. Will the graphics core come with some very fast onboard RAM? The bottom line is this will eventually cut into the OEM graphics market which is where the big money lies and certainly a potential concern for NVIDIA and ATI."

For a man to truly understand rejection, he must first be ignored by a cat.
