L-dawg's Journal: red wing black bird

Rowland borrowed the stuffed red wing black bird (special red wing black bird, that makes a real, authentic red wing black bird call when pressed in the appropriate place) that wchou brought me back from her road trip earlier this summer. The plan was to wait until his officemates were studiously working and then bust out the red wing black bird call (very grating). Well, I received this electronic correspondence from him a few minutes later.

Subject: silence of the black bird

Apparently red wing black birds do not land so well. In a light toss to Taylor, the crash landing seems to resulted in a largely mute bird. If a replacement bird is needed please let me know and I will find a new one. Otherwise we could operate and see if it is repairable.

Saddening yet hilarious.
