Journal Journal: Warner Bros. don't let you unsubscribe

So, I was checking my e-mails, as you do, when I found I had one of those annoying promotional mails from Warner Bros. Naturally, I didn't want to get any more of these, so I scrolled down to the bottom of the message and hit the unsubscribe link.
It promptly did nothing. After a few more clicks, open in new tabs and general 'what' moments, I pulled open the e-mails source, and discovered the 'Unsubscribe' link was just pointed at '#'. Not a real link at all.

Is this new? Do companies just add this button to look respectable, but in reality ensure you can't leave their mailing list?

Fortunately for myself, I gave them a temporary address on my domain..

How come everyone's going so slow if it's called rush hour?
