At least back to WWII, or so. I don't see why the writer is surprised.
I suspect by "heavy meal" he meant "carb-heavy meal". It might have been clearer had he said "carb-heavy meal", so nobody thought that chowing down, say, a 16-ounce filet would require a large bolus. And, yes, your mileage may vary depending on the insulin/carbs ratio. I'm not sure either of those are severely bad oversimplifications, though.
A 16oz Filet Mignon has zero carbs. 1/8 of a chocolate cake (with icing) would be 35 carbs. Think Carb = Sugar, and you're right.
Most of them end up with the actual aggrieved getting $20 and the lawyers getting the six-figure payout.
How can they be surprised that China's pirating designs? For that matter, substandard military parts aren't limited to China. I've heard of several cases of manufacturers here in the USA who didn't care to supply the best.
Depth Perception is my problem. It simply won't allow me to see movies filmed in 3D.

It's a he said/They said. Rand's people are saying it was a detention; the TSA is saying it wasn't. The TSA would deny it was a detention, however.
Credible Methodology? That doesn't stop the MPAA/RIAA....
DId M-Edge post this story? It sounds too good, and makes them sound like saints.

No, it's just more confirmation that these guys don't know why things are but are far more concerned that the number deliver the right message. Anything for the religion of Global Warming.
