Despite the obvious troll, lets consider this a minute. Ive often seen people commenting that steam is a greenhouse gas and as such damaging. Well, consider this: The Earths atmosphere is one big H2O buffer. The average humidity of the atmosphere is controlled solely by external factors, pressure and heat. Add some extra steam to it, and it will rain out. Remove some, and more will evaporate from the sea. There is _nothing_ you can do to change this in the slightest.
Apart from that, in this particular case, we are tapping into the atmospheric energy cycle diverting the energy that would have been dissipated as heat when the water flowed from the mountains into dissipating instead in the bowels of an internal combustion engine. No harm done there. Despite what the article might suggest, more than 90% of electricity in Iceland is produced from hydropower, the rest coming from geothermal sources.
