pathetic, and pretty shameful that I have to share a gender with pricks of that magnitude, but it's not as if ignorance discriminates based on skill in a field. it's the willful idiocy that really gets to me. /disgust

this is exactly what these guys did when they got hassled by Games Workshop (who are notorious wankers when it comes to this stuff, I hear). They made a tribute / fan game recreating the Space Hulk board game, maybe a decade plus after the last Space Hulk game IP had been released...

They changed the name to Alien Assault, tweaked some art assets and any specific universe references, and now they're completely in the clear. It's the EXACT same game, just minus the free promotion for Games Workshop.

Epic fail, facepalm, and slow clap all around...

(only games workshop thing I have is the deluxe edition 20th anniversary edition of Space Hulk which I got myself for Christmas, largely on word of mouth merits via boardgamegeek.com and playing this little gem of a game. and yet they hit the geek with a cease and desist awhile back too -- it was on slashdot...)

I never really knew much about Crohn's disease until your posts in this thread. Just never encountered it before, I guess.

I'll look into donating a bit of my student budgeted cash to the CCFC as you referenced it. I can easily forgo the occasional binge drinking session for your sake, so the relatively tiny amount I spend on beer / liquor will most appropriately go to that. It'll be easier on my stomach, for one... and perhaps a bit on my conscience, with a bit of empathy on the side.

I can't imagine what it's like to have to go through that, but I sincerely hope your quality of life improves. Don't know if I have my email listed, but you seem like a cool fellow Canuck. Props to you for being a stronger spirit than I likely could manage.

my parents did what you're prescribing, oddly enough. and yeah, I'm gonna go with the "hell no, that would probably hurt like a motherfucker" school of thought, seeing as I have the option... and it just sounds painful.

whether or not that's a conclusion arrived at via reason or emotion, it's a choice they wanted me to make when I was old enough to understand... and much as you assumed, I declined :)
