Submission + - Jello-like memory device developed (

Jade_Wayfarer writes: Researchers from North Carolina State Univercity had developed a memristor-like device that can be used to create a true bio-inteface for electronics. The devices are made using a liquid alloy of gallium and indium metals set into water-based gels, similar to gels used in biological research. For now devices cannot store much data, but they can operate in environments that would make traditional electronics unusable (wet insides of brain, for example).

Maybe this device can even help to store data after an EMP, which will make it harder for criminals (or police) to destroy important evidence. But for now researchers hope to use it in biological sensors or for medical monitoring.

Device is discussed in an abstract here.
