Well Android has good legacy support, so I'm not sure what their incompatibility problems are, besides cheap Androids that just aren't well made (you get what you pay for).

Well, the whole "own vs. license" thing means I'm not completely wrong, and I'm not going to disregard that argument because it works nicely for you. You're licensing ebooks off Amazon, not buying the ebook file. They make this clear in the EULA. If you don't like it (and I don't either), then choose another epublisher.

Obviously providing the means to download relatively small files is cheaper than manufacturing and shipping books, so good thing something might be done about it.
