That's an interesting idea. Everybody already warns if you have capslock on while entering a password. They could just change the warning to "Your password will be displayed in plaintext," and ignore the actual capslock (assuming that's possible.)
Damnit, where's Whoopi Goldberg when you need her! Or P.T. Barnum, anyway.
Heh. I seriously do not think anyone on
/. has ever commented on my nick before.
This was dumb when I saw it on Hackaday, and it's still dumb. This dude needs therapy and willpower, not electronics.
<pedantic>If we're giving English lessons, I can't say I've ever heard anyone say either "slippy" or "slippier"; but "slippery" or "slipperier" are both in common use (the first moreso.)</pedantic>
It's highly amusing that the story directly below this one on the front page at the moment is "Facebook iOS App Ditching HTML5 For ObjectiveC". Things are never as simple as the prognosticators would have you believe.
Yep. That's called SmallTalk.
Seriously. Well, bye Slashdot, it used to be fun.
Not to go too far off topic, but my few experiences with VS have been abysmal: the editor sucks (the selection behavior alone is enough to make me want to throw the keyboard through the monitor), search is hellishly clumsy, there's no completion of any kind, it rarely sees symbol definitions it should, etc. It's so bad, that I suspect it has to be my fault: it's unintuitive for me, and I don't know how to use it. Can you recommend a reference for an accomplished programmer who just doesn't understand Windows tools?
I'm guessing you are a 14 year old white boy in a New Jersey basement. Eating cheetos in your underwear, the whole nine yards.
MMMmmmm, no. Mac had (and used) variable-speed motors in their floppy drives. Wintel machines physically could not read Mac disks -- they were not compatible at the hardware level.
Plus the electricity, to run that machine flat out for four months, which I imagine will be way more than pocket change.
"overtightened" --> "overnighted" ?
Mod parent up!
What part of it is wrong -- sounds 100% accurate to me.
