OUTRAGED! Glad I do not live in Maine

Wow, if I heard about this BS going on in my kid's school I would be kicking some Liberal Art ASS!

"children of Maine National Guardsmen who've been deployed to the Gulf have found themselves facing schoolyard taunts--not from fellow students but from "antiwar" teachers" video here. Blog articles here (noting the problem in Texas and Kansas too) and here.

After reading these accounts I do not know if I should scream or cry. The age of the kids involved in this emotional abuse (7 and 9 yr olds) has real-world tears in my eyes.

I really hope all reading this can get the word out and/or track down more info.

More info from one of the people posting on the blogs: searching this link for the string "duke" reveals an important beurocrat e-mail address that could use some attention from the community.

  • I'm sorry, but be it reservist, vet, black, white, hispanic, republican, democrat, christian, muslim, jew, atheist, creationist, microsoft-lover or what not, ridicule by a teacher of a student at any facility funded in tax dollars should result in the teacher getting the boot, tenure or no tenure.

    Grr....

  • That such teachers exist at all, or that the administration of those schools didn't fire them on the spot? Actually, probably not going to fire them ever.
    • Both are bad and part of the same problem. Hard to answer a comparitive when both are the same, but maybe I am just too pissed about it to think up a better answer.
