Google Apps Discriminates against "Stupid"->

Submitted by GGCRabidGopher
GGCRabidGopher writes "Apparently when registering a new domain with Google Apps for your domain you cannot register a domain with the word Stupid in it. While any other offensive word or phrase seems to be OK, it rejects any domain containing the word "Stupid". When contacted Google simple replied with a link to Google Apps Support for their answer. Apparently domains with the word Nazi are OK, just not the word stupid."

Comment: Ohio Supercomputer Network (Score 1) 105

by GGCRabidGopher (#20079615) Attached to: Ohio Establishing State Wide Broadband Network
Ohio has actually done a wonderful job over the last few years bringing high bandwidth links to the educational institutions in the state via the Ohio Supercomputer Network. It provides Gigabit up links for educational entities, k12 and higher ed, to the 10G backbone of the state network. Considering the lack of network infrastructure in some parts of Ohio they have done a great job deploying a high speed network. I can only hope this new initiative will go as well. Go Ted!

Boston bomb scare now in re-runs->

Submitted by

vrmlguy writes "The keystone kops are at it again! A story in the Boston Globe reports, "In a scene reminiscent of the Cartoon Network bomb scare that paralyzed the Boston area in January, police shut down a strip mall yesterday in [the Boston suburb of Ashland] after employees at a Bank of America branch mistook a botched fax for a bomb threat. [...] Branches across the Northeast received the distorted fax and that while other branches also evacuated, none saw law enforcement response as extensive as in Ashland. [...] Town officials may ask Bank of America to reimburse the town for the cost of the response, which included more than a dozen town officers and firefighters, personnel from neighboring towns, a State Police bomb squad, and police dogs.""

Why is there no Firefox Mobile Browser?

Submitted by
GGCRabidGopher
GGCRabidGopher writes "Being both a big fan of PDA's and Firefox, I had to ask myself why there is no Firefox browser for either the Palm OS or Windows Mobile. The standard version of IE that ships with windows mobile is very limited in it's ability do much of anything. There has to be a better mobile browser available but maybe I am just missing something."
