To summarize: facebook didn't innovate anything, they just provided a popular version of something that already existed.

You say mail thread, but neither Outlook nor GMail's webinterface actually support threads. GMail even has this stupid concept of conversations that groups unrelated emails into the same flat list of emails (this is really helpful for system/monitoring messages).
Instead of tabs Google should have implemented actual threads already (and proper quoting support).

This isn't about kids spending money. It's about deceitful advertisements that trick people in buying stuff.
The average person might see through these tricks. But a huge population is dumber than the average person.

TLJ was a great game, but the sequel Dreamfall was terrible. Will Dreamfall: Chapters be as terrible as Dreamfall? Or as good as The Longest Journey. It was not something I wanted to bet money on.

I'm all for informing people on what information they give to companies, and how those companies will use it. But at least don't be hypocritical about it.
