"Xandros, a Linux desktop and server vendor, has acquired Scalix, the open-source messaging and calendaring software developer. The vision is to integrate Scalix into Xandros products for an integrated IT infrastructure with servers, desktops, messaging applications and the management tools.
The announcement says:
"The acquisition represents another step in the fulfillment of Xandros' strategic vision for developing a complete Linux stack, including desktop, SMB and advanced enterprise servers, cross-platform management tools, and mission-critical IT infrastructure applications, in order to provide organizations and enterprises of all sizes with single vendor support of their diverse and growing IT infrastructures."
Scalix is to continue independent operation as a wholly owned subsidiary. It will also continue supporting other platforms (Red Hat, Novell...).
Curiously enough, on June Xandros made a patent agreement with Microsoft."Link to Original Source
