Deepwater Horizon had BSOD issues->

Submitted by Ecks
Ecks writes "The testimony has started in the Deepwater Horizon case and in addition to other problems it looks like they had major BSOD issues with their computer system. The whole thing article is an interesting read. It's on the NY Times site so registration is required.

"Problems existed from the beginning of drilling the well, Mr. Williams said. For months, the computer system had been locking up, producing what the crew deemed the “blue screen of death.”

“It would just turn blue,” he said. “You’d have no data coming through.”"

Best Buy Sold Digital Photo Frames w/Virus->

Submitted by Ecks
Ecks writes "Looks like a batch of digital picture frames got infected with a Windows Virus before leaving the factory:

The digital photo frame in question is the Insignia 10.4-inch model number NS-DPF10A and was sold on or around the holiday season online and in-store. Best Buy was quick to jump into PR mode and say that the virus is "older" and "easily identified and removed by current anti-virus software." The alert continues that Best Buy is taking the matter very seriously.
The blogger waxes doubtful about Best Buy's reaction to the issue. The manufacturer has a clip about it here."
