I think his original comment made it clear he knows the difference; that's why he called the Tiltrotor a 'rotor equivalent to' the Harrier.

You have obviously never seen the ME in operation; I have, it was not pretty. I especially liked the skill with which on of the mounted leant really low in the saddle to beat his stick on the heads of two women treating an unconscious man.
but (a) he's not a dictator
Sitting in a room, being shown 'baseball cards' with pictures of 'enemies' on them and casually signing the death warrents for them and all the innocents within the blast radius..
Naah, nothing dictatorial about that all..
The US military is the dictator; Obama is just another of it's victims.
Prior Art
It's cheaper to mold parts.
It's cheaper if you already have the moulding equipment (which is pretty heavy duty for parts this big) and are making runs big enough to recover the cost of making the moulds for each design.
Small scale manufacture, especially if geared towards individualised vehicles based around standardised chassis/engine/safetycell designs, will print them on site and on demand.
It will have a Diesel Cycle engine, that is all. It might well be running an insane rpm with a pseudo 2-stroke cycle (ignition on every cycle) with inlet/outlet controlled by solenoids; a computerised fly-by-wire engine.. There are lots of clever designs around these days that break the 'rules' of traditional, entrenched, engine design.
ie. Traditional automotive diesels might not work well with ethanol, but that does not mean it is true for all diesel cycle designs.
Yes, he is serious; he's a RIAA/DOJ/greedist schill, and a comment placed like this gets him a bonus.
do I know whether the M6 is closed? Yes, my satnav tells me.
Ooh; that sounds rather like you are using your satnav to support every yard of your journey. but you gave the impression above that you were superior to people who do that..?
The judge could very well say "Yes, that law is unjust and you are free to go."
yeah... happens all the time.
You can only deal with unjust laws in this way if the legal system is decent, honest and just.
But unjust laws are, by implication, associated with unjust processes; and it is a safe bet that any Judge who is willing to hear a case based on an unjust law will not be interested in justice. In that circumstance the correct response is to say 'I will not acknowledge you.' The state will then attempt to use coercive force on you; what happens next really depends on your strength of will, your tolerance to pain, and how deep the injustice is.
Blimey; do you really need satnav to know how far you have to go on a familiar route? Don't you have a brain that can tell you that?
the Tesla charging station (marked on the Google image)
Indeed; so that means that the charging station position is well known to navigation systems.
In the much smaller parking lot at my apartment my satnav still insists on directing me to within a few meters of my assigned space, ie. GPS has sufficient accuracy to find a particular position within a parking lot.
Which means that either the satnav in this car has the exact location of the charging station incorrectly mapped (which would be a big fail on Tesla's part), or this reporter failed to use the inbuilt nav tool Tesla supply to help drivers stay charged, a big fail on his part.
Yes I have a question, why are you lecturing about things you are ignorant of? A Toyota Prius does NOT drive the wheels directly via a conventional gearbox. The engine recharges the battery continuously, and the battery turns the wheels via electric motors.
Methinks you should do your homework before typing: a Prius is a full hybrid.
The only thing I got wrong was to refer to the gearbox as 'conventional', since gearboxes used in such drivetrains are pretty unconventional really.
... without their knowledge or permission and without explicitly saying so in any terms of service...
What is the betting the terms of service implicitly say they can share purchaser data with the developers. And the above line is relying on purchaser ignorance and the word explicit to worm around this.
Why aren't fuel cells, not internal combustion engines, the "range extenders" in plug-in hybrid cars?
Because they are a battery substitute.. not an engine substitute.
Hybrid cars can charge from their gas engine.. but that engine also drives the wheels directly via a conventional gearbox when needed. it is the use of TWO different drive systems that makes them a Hybrid..
Any questions?
Musk will print your driving log, and you'll end up getting traffic tickets in the mail.
No.. no. I wont.
Years ago I adopted a foolproof way of avoiding speeding fines; and one that keeps me and everybody around me safer; I simply obey speed limits.
As your driving improves you might discover this secret too.
Well, O.K. I'll compromise with my principles because of EXISTENTIAL DESPAIR!
