EK103 writes "I recently decided to buy myself a new laptop. After rigorously comparing hardware specs across a multitude of brands, I came to the conclusion that Dell had the best prices for my chosen configuration. However, upon further perusal of the Dell online store, I realized that the same XPS 15 laptop configuration can have up to five radically different prices depending on the pathway one chooses. By "radical," I mean differences of around $400. These discrepancies seem either in error or deliberately misleading to me. But whatever the reason, I am shocked by this discovery, and humbly ask Slashdot: How is this possible? Why is Dell doing this? And is this practice now the norm?"
