DrMrLordX writes "The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that state Senator Dough Jackson, D-Dickson, is pushing for the death penalty for child rapists. Isn't the death penalty meant to be reserved for people that actually kill someone?"

DrMrLordX writes "With declining circulation numbers looming over the heads of major newspaper publishers, what fate awaits syndicated columnists? I am not syndicated, but I do write for a local independent paper with the ultimate goal of becoming successful (financially and otherwise) as a columnist. Every time I contemplate the possibility of seeking syndication, bleak future newspaper circulation forecasts make me question my own motives. Is it even possible to break into the editorial world with a shrinking reader base? Would it be better to get into socio-political blogging and rely on ad/referral revenues?"

Hickman's article has drawn quite a bit of criticism since word of its existance spread throughout a number of WoW guilds. It just so happens that the article originally appeared in The Pulse which is a weekly paper in competition with The Enigma, a paper for which I write on a weekly basis. I have offered a different viewpoint on MMORPG addiction which I felt obligated to do, considering how long ago I started playing the darn things (UO pre-alpha . . . the one that came before the E3 pre-alpha)."
