Star Wars cast: where are they now?

Submitted by solitas
solitas writes "A Breitbart news story interviews certain StarWars alumni about what the trilogy has done for them.

They were part of one of the biggest movies in history but almost without exception the cast of "Star Wars" faded from view after lighting up cinemas during the 1970-80s.

While George Lucas' intergalactic fairytale proved to be a launch pad for the career of Harrison Ford, other prominent members of the blockbuster franchise have not come close to enjoying Ford's iconic status.

Ogg's time has come -- again.

Submitted by OurNewOverlord
OurNewOverlord writes "Michael Calore at Wired magazine reports on the launch of PlayOgg.org, "The time may be ripe for Ogg Vorbis to truly shine. According to Chris "Monty" Montgomery, creator of Ogg and founder of the Xiph.org Foundation which oversees Ogg's development, such big-name backing has been a long time coming." Wired News had previoualy predicted a surge in interest around Ogg Vorbis following recent patent lawsuits over use of the MP3 format. Calore says, "If you're willing to say goodbye to your iPod's soul, as you know it, you can add Ogg support yourself by installing Rockbox, an open-source firmware replacement.""

InDi0 writes "I am finishing my studies in Computer Science, and have a relatively broad IT-related experience. Inflating my bank account by seeking employment in a big firm is my next obvious career step. I though, feel the need to use my expertise to help people in need to improve their lives. Do any slashdotters have experience in working towards bringing progress to the developing world? Where can I start looking for projects where I can offer my expertise without expecting monetary compensation, only to enjoy a feeling of doing Good? Working for some food and shelter is all I ask, as long as its a project that matters."
