DdJ writes "Apparently, the guitar manufacturer Gibson is accusing Activision of violating their patents with the Guitar Hero franchise. As near as I can figure, the patent in question is US patent number 5,990,405."

Activision blocks patch to use GH guitars w/ RB 0

DdJ writes "At release, the Guitar Hero 3 guitar works with Rock Band on the XBox 360 but not on the PS3.

It is now confirmed that Harmonix has a patch that will allow the GH3 guitar to work with Rock Band, and has delivered it to Sony... but Activision is forbidding them from releasing it.
