I'm really quite surprised by the number of people choosing 'less than 50'. Remember, 50 cubic meters is 3.6 x 3.6 x 3.6m. Think how much of this a double bed or table takes up. Remember how much boot/trunk space you needed last time you moved.

I write any notes in a TODO.txt which is always open in notepad++. The great thing is npp has SSH support so whenever I save the file it synchronises it with my webserver, and I have the textfile bookmarked on my smartphone.

This does me, of course, that I can't edit it on the run, but compared with the bloaty shit that is evernote, I much prefer it.

If I lost my data I'd be furious for a month. However, if I lost the watch my parents gave me for my 21st, or the large framed picture of my friends and I laughing together in our dinner jackets at dawn, I would still look back on it sadly aged 60. Computers can now store memories like possessions used to (pictures, video), but fortunately facebook has most of them stored for me. Facebook will never be able to store the picture of our old family home in its big oak frame.
