Chacham's Journal: Verbiage: Rice for President? 12

Journal by Chacham

I agree with many, Bush is the better of two evils. Well, he's not that bad, but, i'd much rather have someone with a backbone. Perhaps the Bush's are best suited for governorships or the vice-presidency. Though with at least two states already, people seem to want to outsource their governorships to foreigners.

Who then would be a good Republican president? With Reagan out of the game, there isn't much left. While Newt Gingrich and Alan Keys are both have excellent no nonsense ideas (both probably ENTJs), i don't think either would do well as the countries highest diplomat. Rush Limbaugh is too silly for that, though he'd make a great advisor. Hmm... how about his.

President - Condalezza Rice
Vice President - Donald Rumsfeld (or Colin Powell)
Secretary of State - Bob Dole
Chief of Staff - Colin Powell

Ever since Rice came to the fore she's seemed like a good candiadate. As my brother said though, she seems to bend to Bush's will too much, and can be seen in her modified view towards Israel. Perhaps in highest office she wouldn't break for anyone, or maybe she'd give in to foreign pressure? I wonder.

Verbiage: Rice for President?

  • In '08 we can pretty much be assured that the Dems will put Hillary forward (assuming ofcourse Kerry loses).

The Republicans one up the Dems by putting forward a %policiallyCorrect{"colored"}; woman. Tricky, and possibley the best strategic move on the Repuclicans.

I dunno though. Hopefully within the next four years we will have put down most major terror networks that directly want to affect the US (ignoring palestinians/Israel). I am sure that we will by then have a solid stance and direction for deal

I do like what I've seen of Dr Rice, but I suspect she'd be better suited for VP, at least for now - partly for the reasons you cite. Rumsfeld is probably too old now, but perhaps Colin Powell for President with Condi as VP?

As for the rest, I'm not sure off-hand: Gen. Franks for SecDef perhaps? (Or SecState, in the same way as Colin Powell now; having a recent general

    • Rumsfeld is probably too old now,

I don;t think so. I just don't think the public could handle an INTJ for president right now. :)

but perhaps Colin Powell for President with Condi as VP?

Nah. Powell is great at diplomacy, but his views are much too liberal for my tastes. He's be a good VP, but i think Rumsfeld would be better. Powell might be best were facts have to be shoved in someone's face, but in the nicest way possible.

      As for the rest,

As for the rest, i haven't watched TV in a number of months
      • OK, we now have Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice and Dole all lined up for the VP slot, and a vacancy in the Oval Office itself... copy Iraq's rotating presidency? ;-)

Actually, having multiple Presidents could be good - whichever one is best suited for the current situation would be President at that point. Isn't that more or less what Kerry's running as though?

          Don't forget about Bush. :)

Possibly. And, he who has the best stomach for the current foreign food.

No. With a rotation each person actually has a view. As opposed to the one person approach that just molds to the current situatio
  • Mit Romney for President
    Jesse Ventura Vice President
    Arnold as Secretary of State.

    Yeah.... One can dream.

But I'll agree that Condi-Powell is a dynamic duo.
    • Jesse Ventura Vice President

      Heh.

      • Yeah, can't you see him as the Dick Cheney to Mit Romney's GWB?

Arnold is probably no where near being a Colin Powell though.

Personally, i'd just like to see him slam Kofi Anan. :)

Yeah, The govenator doesn't know Yiddish. :-P
