Chacham's Journal: Nonsense: [Meme] This is more interesting than Digg... 8

Journal by Chacham

Well, i responded to insanecarbonbasedlif's JE and he responded first. (I also reponded to stoolpigeon's, smitty_one_each's, and Degrees'.

To repeat, basically

  1. Tell you why I befriended you.
  2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a color, a photo, etc..
  3. Tell you something I like about you.
  4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
  5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
  6. In return, you must post this in your Journal.

Because i responded, i have to post this. I ought to read *all* the instructions first. :)

Anyway, my answers wouldn't be interesting. Because in general,

  1. I don't remember
  2. there's very little association
  3. i don't remember
  4. i doubt i have one
  5. i'm not sure i want to know,
  6. i don't care if you post this in your own JE.

But, i will try. However, i will offer a second set of items, to make up.

  1. Associate you nick with something.
  2. Associate your uid with something.
  3. Ask something you've always wanted to know about me.

*sniff* taking me to task like this.

Ok, Ok, lets have some fun.

Tell you why I befriended you.
      I don't remember

I can only guess because i enjoy reading your posts. Um, not the flurry of JE of late, but your comments. I just befriended he who seems nice or interesting.

Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a color, a photo, etc..
      there's very little association

I rarely think of your nick as it is. Currently, your are associated with those annoying never-ended flow JEs, which i feel compelled to take not
      • I see everything as a part of my religious life. I just had a discussion with someone about that the other day- kind of funny. I don't believe in sacred vs. secular. I think everything is sacred. We were discussing a part in the Bible that talks about doing metal work as a spiritual thing. (Exodus 35 and 36 - building the tabernacle)

I also don't like the distinction of clergy vs. laity. I think everyone who comes into a relationship with God is a priest. I think of whatever I do as ministry -

          Nice answer.

I do not mind if you go longer. I just don't feel i could actually ask for that. And i might not be willing to do the same thing myself.

Do you mean *for* a spiritual purpose.

I want them to know that if they are interested, I'm always willing to share my view on things - but don't want them to think I'm going to shove that down their throat.

I think i am mostly of the same approach.

          Thanx for responding. Y
  • And memory plays tricks - but it's been fun. I already got to ask you a question, so I don't really feel the need to ask you another one right away. Maybe I will someday, and I'll bring it up again. I'm interested in the associations, though!

I just remember your posts. You probably got technical at some point.

Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a color, a photo, etc..
      there's very little association

Other than the lesser amount of JEs, i probably think of you and stoolpigeon the same way (nick on slashdot wise, not other interests). Though, he seems more sympathetic.

Note, that is just a feeling i get. Whether or not it has basis in reality, is irrelevant, and similar/dissimilar in my mind a
      • If you were able to reprogram the Ark of Truth, and have it affect everyone on Earth. Would you use it, and for what?
If there were a way to forbid people from physically or emotionally harming other people without destroying the rest of free will, then I would - I'm not sure there's an unassailable set of "values" I could put in the Ark of Truth that would result in that, though.

That's an end, not a command. :) Besides, no harm would impede doctors or divorces, and who knows what else. Though, i think i get the gist. Thanx for responding.

How about "Respect others as you want them to respect you."?

Center meeting at 4pm in 2C-543.
