  • Looking at my blue dot (lower, right-middle of PA, sitting by itself just above the huge red dot in the Baltimore area), there is a severe dearth of available women in my area. By available I mean not only single but ones which either would have an interest in me or me an interest in them. The vast majority fall into three categories:

    1) smokers: automatic disqualification
    2) overweight: I don't mean 10 pounds overweight, I mean waddling-because-I-suck-down-a-two-liter-bottle-of-Pepsi-everyday overweight
    3)

    You know, this could completely redefine red-state/blue-state.

    (Oh? Subject missing? Is that what that unlabeled white box is for?)
  • Without any correction of the data for sexual preferences, the data is largely useless in this context, even if your sexual preferences are any human that moves, because then the significant piece of data would be total number of single persons in any given metro area, not the gender balance. Los Angeles has 90,000 more single men than single women? Can you say Hollywood is a part of Los Angeles?. Same goes for San Francisco. I'm not criticising lifestyles here.
