I am younger than dirt, but older than trees. I have three children, a house, and a business. I write code in several languages and for several platforms, and frequently speak at conferences and trade shows.
I am also a a firefighter -- one of the 800,000 volunteer firefighters in the U.S. who protect more than 40% of its population. Not all cities are New York, and not all fire departments are FDNY. A great many of you are protected by regular people with real jobs who drop everything to come when you need us.
