+ - Red Hat's Open Source Business Model Vulnerable?

Submitted by BlabberMouth
BlabberMouth (672282) writes "Red Hat's stock price has plunged on Oracle's announcement that it will undercut Red Hat's support pricing. This has called its entire open source business model into question. "Basically, Oracle has usurped Red Hat's business and there's not a thing that Red Hat can do because the nature of open source and Linux makes the software freely available. Provided that you have the people and the infrastructure to support that software — and Oracle has — you can simply go to market with the same offering." http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/6643/983/"
