Submission + - As an IT worker, what industry do you work in?

Bicx writes: As I sit here working as a programmer analyst for a large insurance company, I can't help but wonder if most computer science grads end up in a place like this. I was trained to develop software as if for a software development firm, but such jobs seem to be fairly sparse. My question to Slashdot is this:

As a software developer, do you work within the IT department of a larger company, or do you work for a company specializing in software development?

As a bonus, if you work for a non-software company, what industry do you work in?
