Asic Eng writes "Germany's constitutional court has ruled today that the state can't mandate telecom providers to store data on emails and phone calls (including location of mobile phone calls). The data already stored must be deleted immediately. Until now the affected law had ordered telcommunication providers to store such data of all their customers for six months so that it could be accessed by law enforcement agencies."
