And fuck the Americans too?

Initially the Dutch government had no problems with the scientists publishing their research.
It was the US government didn't want the paper to be published and they somehow made the Dutch government take the same stance on the issue.

Anonymous Intercepts Call from FBI to Scotland Yard->

Submitted by eldavojohn
eldavojohn writes "Fifteen minutes of a call from January 17th has been released by Anonymous as proof that they intercepted the communication between the FBI and Scotland Yard. The call, devoted to tracking and prosecuting members of Anonymous, was presented as evidence to back up claims that Anonymous has been 'able to continuously read their [FBI] internal comms for some time now.' From the AP article, 'Those on the call talk about what legal strategy to pursue in the cases of Ryan Cleary and Jake Davis — two British suspects linked to Anonymous — and discuss details of the evidence gathered against other suspects.' The conference call can be found on Youtube."

What will happen if Windows XP becomes free? 1

Submitted by
An anonymous reader writes "Now that Vista is out and MS is putting all of its efforts behind their new OS, do you think Microsoft will gain or lose by distributing Windows XP for free? What will happen to Linux distros intended for the desktop? Assuming MS will charge only for support services to their older products and free even the Windows 2000 server, I think this can be a pretty big blow to its competitors, but not such a big financial fall. Thoughts anyone?"

He goes on to say that there are easier ways for parents to protect their children, such as cheap and omnipresent parental access control software, than chipping away at fundamental rights. theodp writes "Valleywag reports on a new caste system at Google, which will mean compulsory lunch breaks, two additional unpaid 15-minute breaks, limited OT, and e-clock punching for those reclassified as hourly workers starting April 1. Could be worse, though. Google also offers gigs through WorkforceLogic (the company that helped Microsoft deal with its pesky permatemps), which come with a guarantee of unemployment after one year. Guess that's what passes for the Best Employer in the US these days."
