I'm not very sure of the details, but I was under the impression that some countries in Europe have a direct representation of power according to how many votes they receive. This style of governance is actually more how I would like to see the government run, for example, if the libertarian, independent, green, anarchist, or whatever party gets 10% of the vote in a state, that party should maintain at least 10% control over what happens there rather than hoping that they can beat the parties at large in the next election in the mob-rule style of politics that we have now.

I agree with you about the two party system being a symptom and I did imply that state power was the solution to the over-reaching fed. A lot of states are actually declaring sovereignty:

(NaturalNews) Nine state legislatures have either passed or introduced bills intended to reaffirm their state's sovereignty as laid out in the Ninth and Tenth Amendments of the Constitution. Another twenty states are expected to introduce similar measures this year. While the ramifications of these resolutions are still uncertain, one thing is clear. People are sick and tired of the federal government's usurpation of power not granted to it by the Constitution. They have had enough of fear based economic terrorism and underhanded promotion of policies and procedures that bypass public scrutiny and the will of the people.

Voting for either "side" in this broken two party corporate governance is a waste, the best you can hope for is that the guy who wins will fuck you less than the other guy.

that is unless we take control of our federal government by utilizing our state power, but who really paid attention to the local elections? Last time I checked, they were installed by the same corporations/banks that paid for McCain AND Obama!

Eight-year DARPA Director Tony Tether announced his early resignation today via email, a copy of which is available at The DEW 'Distant Early Warning' Line, a defense industry blog. An anonymous reader writes: Think Google can only track you search habits? Think again. This site survey found that 40 of the top100 websites use Google-analytics as their web analysis software. Sites like mininova and youporn included. Google dominates the search engine world and now as a centralized service dominate the none-search website metrics. I am glad they do. I will be immortalized in Google databases as Google scientists of the future analyze my search habits, movies I like to see and types of girls I would like to meet.

NOFORN means do not share with US allies such as the UK, Australia and Canada. According to the report former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld launched the assault before marines were ready because the Iraqi town, situated 40 miles from the center of Baghdad, had become "a symbol of resistance that dominated international headlines". Similar considerations eventually destroyed the mission. Coalition air strikes were conducted during the three week cease-fire, which was a "bit of a misnomer" and the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal contributed to the politically driven final peace settlement. The settlement left Coalition Provisional Authority chief Paul Bremer "furious". The report concludes stating that "Information operations are increasingly important in a 21st Century world..." When I noticed the moose didn't stop I started to run as well. The moose followed me and after a while I had was too tired to continue, the boy told norwegian newspaper Avisen.

The moose butted him in the back but the blow was absorbed by his backpack. As he fell to the ground he used a trick he'd learned in "World of Warcraft".

Submission + - Dyslexia is Rampant Among Entrepreneurs

Hugh Pickens writes: "Five years ago Fortune magazine published a story about dyslexic business leaders including Craig McCaw, who pioneered the cellular industry; Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic Airways; Charles Schwab, founder of the discount brokerage firm; and Paul Orfalea, founder of the Kinko's copy chain. Now a study of entrepreneurs in the United States by Julie Logan, professor of entrepreneurship at the Cass Business School in London, has found that 35 percent of the entrepreneurs she surveyed identified themselves as dyslexic. "We found that dyslexics who succeed had overcome an awful lot in their lives by developing compensatory skills," Logan says. "If you tell your friends and acquaintances that you plan to start a business, you'll hear over and over, 'It won't work. It can't be done.' But dyslexics are extraordinarily creative about maneuvering their way around problems." Mr. Orfalea, who left Kinko's seven years ago, and who now dabbles in a hodgepodge of business undertakings, is almost proud of having dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. "I get bored easily, and that is a great motivator," he said. "I think everybody should have dyslexia and A.D.D.""
