There is a reason why they call the drug courier a mule and it isn't because he is the brains of the outfit.

The right question to ask --- the first question to ask ---- is not where and how to hide the insanely dangerous files you are carrying about on your person but why you are doing anything so stupid in the first place?

Yes, all of those things should be legal. Prostitution because the alternative is "white" slavery, drugs because the alternative is massive nation destroying violence and people who harmed no-one spending their lives in jail (ie more slavery), and child pornography because the alternative is increased rates of child rape, as has been shown in Japan and even in the West where such pornography was perfectly legal until the 70's, and was produced professionally under strict supervision for the benefit of the actors, who had a good time and were paid exorbitant sums.

Thing is, they don't have to be the SIZE of a human brain to match humans, as most of our brains are used for serendipitous crap like breathing and sexual arousal levels. An insect brain is plenty to process images at primate level, if devoted entirely to that task.

You mean you've used it like once or you've actually spent time with it? I'm just asking because you're unaware of the device being hands/eyes-free and oblivious to people using suction mounts.

Your attempts to try to look superior (while also moving the goal posts) because you made a mistake "don't impress me much."

... moving goal posts? Do you really really think I was trying to claim that people listen to GPS directions like they'd listen to a radio in the car? I wouldn't mind, but even after the first correction you even tried to go down the path of saying: "See, that's a distraction!" In all seriousness you'd have to ignore several posts I've made about how GPS's work and how people use them to actually believe that. Moving goal posts, indeed.

Oh, and speaking of trying to look smarter after a mistake, you've driven us away a few blocks from the topic. Ready to head back, yet? I still haven't heard the details about how you've removed a radio from your car or how you insist that passengers in your car keep their mouths shut, because, you know, you're so worried about distracted driving on the same level as the accidents GPSs cause.

I can certainly tell the difference between 1080 and 720 on my 60" TV when watching from about 10 feet away or so, although it's certainly not a dramatic difference. According to charts I've seen, I'd need an 80" TV to even begin seeing any benefit to 4K, and it tops off at 160". For most people, at least for TVs, 4K just doesn't make any sense.

Here's a handy chart to see the optimal resolutions given a particular TV size and viewing distance.

Who said that? I'm not sure you can even do that on an Apple watch. You certainly can't on a Pebble Watch.

Here's an actual scenario:

Ah, that text message isn't important. Glad I didn't waste time pulling my phone out for that.

There's plenty of reasons to not like smart watches, you don't need to make shit up.

For those that run down phones in less than a day they may not have to do a mid-day charge any longer. That's actually quite a huge win.

Thereby saving you time only if you can ignore most notifications

You are ignoring the tiering of notifications possible with this arrangement.

Lol. true, but how much is that worth, right?

I guess you don't mind people wondering why you find the insides of your pants so suddenly interesting.

But retains the pointlessness of wearing a fitness band.

Well I basically agree as I don't use a fitness band and don't really plan to use any of the health features of the new watch. But I'm not turning that off either...

Functionality handled better by a non-smart watch.

Yes but that is balanced by the paucity of other abilities a non-watch have. That singular function has not provided enough value for a decade or so now to warrant my wearing a watch at all. But it IS more functional than pulling out the phone so for the HUGE number of people who have stopped wearing watches, that is a net positive feature

Honestly my main complaint with the apple watch is the lock in to apple. ...If you want a smart watch fine, but have the sense to buy one that works with any phone.

So then you must equally hate Android Wear.

Myself I personally think devices that are better integrated will provide notable better function, in terms of both performance and battery life.

I also ordered a Pebble Time, so I'll see...

It's a hell of a package that makes things like Microsoft Azure look like a joke in comparison

I found the exact opposite, but we are mostly a Microsoft shop. Working with Azure was dead simple, including setting up auto-scaling (Which wasn't offered by Amazon, at least when we were looking), so that our website scales up during peak times, and drops back down during the quieter times, automatically. It also ahs staged publishing which we use a lot, and the ability to switch our public website between any of the multiple slots INSTANTLY with no downtime is also a very big plus. Again, something we couldn't do with AWS at the time we looked.

Publishing directly from Visual Studio is nice (Not offered with AWS -- except via FTP which does a complete site upload instead of only differences).
Automatic SQL Backups and rollbacks to point in time is also dead simple in Azure, but I'm not sure it is even possible in AWS outside buying an enterprise SQL Server license and managing it yourself.

Everything else we looked at was either better at Azure or the same between the two with the exception of their CDN, which I found better at Amazon than Azure at the time. As that wasn't a requirement for us, it was a pretty simple choice (even though we have both Azure and AWS corporate accounts). Our other departments that are java & PHP based prefer AWS however.
