A very good explanation. Thanks.
Make it 10.0.0.0/12 for private networks, and reclaim the rest for public networks?
OOXML MUST DIE!
I've have my share of fun decoding that crap. It is not a good format for anyone but Microsoft.
I'd say at least have the ability to set if the requested permissions are read only, or read/write.
Remember: MAD.
Apple does it, and like it or not (most likely not) Samsung have to do it to protect themselves. And yes, I'm aware that they are all litigious bastards. Apple just seems to be the worst, with the least substantial patents.
MAD
As in mutually assured destruction. I hate it, and I hate the need for it, but if Google/Samsung etc. don't build a portfolio of essential patents, litigious bastards, like Apple and other patent trolls, will steam-roll them in the courts.
If only we had the time.
6 digit Slashdot ID?
That's cute. Come back when your ears are dry, if "time around here" matters one iota.
I do recall a story about Maersk moving their data centre from the US to Denmark, using one of their planes as a carrier, filled with harddisks.
One current example is the subtle weakening of the RNG's which in turn is claimed to reduce for instance 128 bit symmetric keys to effectively just 32-bit strength.
I can't recall where I saw that stated, and I have no idea how that would work.
If the file contains anything of interest, it might even be in wikileaks interest to let the NSA know what is in it.
Whether NSA breaks it or not is actually irrelevant, wikileaks could even send the key to them without trouble.
The question is, do they (NSA) dare risk that the rest of us get access to it.
Yuck! She should not even seen.
Once upon a time, maybe, but no more. Please, for our sanity's sake, no more.
Drop some Android on it, and see if it'll fly then.
