I know that this is off topic but why does underemployment have to be seen as such a negative thing. I am on the spectrum, I have a masters degree in Information Systems, and I drive a truck. I love my job! I don't consider it being underemployed at all. I have precious solitude, books on tape, the ability to take a nap during the day, and a boss who I communicate over text message. The office requires some really strong social skills and savvy personalities. Forget all of that noise and stress. I'm far happier and more successful as a truck driver than I ever was administering windows and unix systems. I gave up trying to get any kind of accommodation from a workplace, instead I chose a career to suite my temperament and interests. The bottom line is that society places too much emphasis on a very saccharine, one dimensional definition of success and happiness. I now see success and happiness as holding down a job I like and living below my means. If I could do my professional live over, I never would've gone to college - I would've gone right to tractor trailer training school. Instead, I got caught up in society's expectation for me to make it big in some bullshit white collar gig and lead a miserable daily life. Yeah sure, I don't make high five figure salary anymore but no amount of toys that that money could buy me gave me any happiness whatsoever. This is just my 0.02 cents but I feel a sense of freedom in the past six months that I've never felt in my adult, professional life. Choose a career based on your temperament, aptitude, and interests - not on how much money you can make or what society expects of you.

Kevlar tactical vests, being essentially a ballistic, polymer weave, have a shelf life of only about 3-5 years or so before they lose their power to slow and stop bullets. Apparently the strength of the polymer degrades over time, especially with repeat exposure so heat and UV. I would be curious if the graphene-based body armor is stronger and with a longer shelf life.

I've lived in Gilbert, AZ, and in some ways, it is a mini bible belt in its own little domain. There are Jehova's Witnesses, Mormons, Catholics, and Protestants all locked in a political contest with one another. Gilbert is a really nice part of the east valley with safe neighborhoods and streets and friendly people. Its a shame religion is so embedded in politics. If you want to teach your kids creationism, the bible, and/or religion specific teachings, that's what Sunday school is for. Please don't dictate to me and my family your way of system of beliefs and force it onto me. I make the choice to be atheist but I don't come right out and criticize the faithful, rather it's the faithful that lambast me.

I wouldn't believe anything any of the large telecom companies say with the possible exception of T-Mobile. And even with T-Mobile, I'm likely to have a healthy dose of skepticism.

You might be able to make the argument that Comcast is in breach of their service agreement with you. Firstly, and as painful as it will probably be, try to resolve the issue with their technical support. If you get sent into an endless loop without any kind of resolution, you might get out of your contract by simply making the argument that Comcast is failing to provide services as advertised.

Simply because something is endemic and pervasive in a society, does not make it a right. Cheating is dishonest, pure and simple - there is no good way to rationalize it. Cheating in an exam means that you either did not take the time or care enough to understand the material. If I were an employer, I would be wary of hiring someone so unscrupulous.

I'm not for more regulation but Big Telecom is out to screw us all. I thought market forces might correct the action but because it is an oligarchy with no real competition, Obama has my support 110% on this one. It should be regulated and net neutrality should be enforced! If Obama can break the telecom thumb screws on the American people, he's achieved a lot. Especially when big telecom calls 50Mbps up and down fast. I've got hot news, Japan and the UK have 1GB fbre to the home for less than what TWC, Comcast, Charter, et al.

The media conveniently leaves certain things out of its reports. The use of these tracking devices are disclosed in the terms and conditions that people sign without reading. Honestly, this a good use of technology to give people who have fallen on hard times, access to a car. Should we pass a law simply because people will sign a document without reading it?
