Wireless will never have the same potential for bandwidth that wired internet access has. It's up to the wired providers to actually implement enough bandwidth that wireless can't keep up. Given the shitty near monopoly incumbent cable operators we have in the US there very well could be faster wireless providers.

Maybe in the 70s. I think today normal is to weigh 300+lbs and spend most of your free time sitting in front of a television (sometimes watching sports) and eating crappy food.

Occasionaly 'normal' people get lonely and tone out the tv for a few minutes to look for a mate... on the internet.

No, no it doesn't. Governments throughout history have proven that people given power without acountability will be corupted and do bad things with it. That's why we have laws mandating things like trials in order to imprison people. Now our wonderful leaders have found a way to side-step these protections. Even if they really did this just to protect us from the truly bad people I see no reason to believe that our current set of leaders are somehow better than ever other person who ever had the power to "disappear people" without accountability. Surely they have or will abuse this new power and put someone in there that doesn't belong.

They weren't trying to correlate intelligence with genes. They were trying to correlate educational attainment with genes. That is not the same thing. People don't always apply their full intelligence towards school. Also, doing well and going far in school doesn't prove much about one's intelligence. It proves one can remember facts long enough to regurgitate them in a test. I suppose that is a kind of intelligence but there is much more to it than that! I think that having an analytical mind and actually thinking about those facts can get in the way of the study, regurgitate, forget, repeat process and is therefore detrimental to one's grades.

How do you know? With all that secrecy anyone could be there for any reason. I have no problem with the government/military imprisnoning or even killing terrorists. But nobody except those directly involved know who is in Guantanamo or why.

That's so old fashioned. Get with the times! Laws against doing things are out. Laws against doing things with a ________ are where it's at today. Really? Wow, I didn't realize Arizona was that bad off! Seriously though, even if it seems to help in the short term do you really want a whole state to be dependant on one single factory for that large a piece of it's economy? Arizona, just go ask Michigan about that and then have a long, hard thinking session about the future.

Build a factory. Promise to hire lots of people. Take government officials out for a series of expensive dinners where you talk about all the tax dollars your employees wages will bring. Do whatever else everyone else does.

I don't know. Maybe if you can be too big to fail you can also be to small to fail?

Nah, I'm sure the "big mouths" are just getting a drop in the bucket. There are plenty of tax subsidies going to bigger fish discussed only behind closed doors.

Was that entirely bogus? If so then I missed that. I was aware it was over-hyped. What isn't? News people are trying to make money too.

Do they? I didn't notice. Don't get me wrong, I think Elon Musk throwing away his cue cards in a press conference and anouncing "I am Iron Man" to the anoyance of his army buddy a day after kicking some bad guys ass in a flying suit he built himself would be AWESOME! But I for one don't NEED that. My life will be complete even if it never happens.
