Designers of the Optimus Keyboard (http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/) have just launched a development journal today to bring people up to speed about the current progress of their project (which could prove that these guys are serious about their keyboard after all). If you are unfamiliar with the Optimus, it is an input device that will use LEDs in each individual key to allow you to change the look and function of each key on the fly.
The dev journal can be found here:

Quoted from the site:
"In string theory, physicists tell us that the subatomic particles that make up our universe are created within ten spatial dimensions (plus an eleventh dimension of "time") by the vibrations of exquisitely small "superstrings". The average person has barely gotten used to the idea of there being four dimensions: how can we possibly imagine the tenth?"

The website has an interesting flash animation that takes you from the first Dimension to the tenth. There is also a book for sale entitled "Imagining the Tenth Dimension."

Scientists say they have created a stem cell line from a human embryo that had stopped developing naturally, and so was considered dead. Using such embryos might ease ethical concerns about creating such cells, they suggested.
One expert said the technique makes harvesting stem cells no more ethically troublesome than organ donation. But others said it still carries scientific and ethical problems.
