Comment my suggestion (Score 1) 533

I hope this has already been suggested in the 120-something posts so far, but if not, here's my simplistic suggestion. Go ahead and use Chrome (or Chromium if you want) for your gMail tabs. But only use that browser for Google mail and apps. Do all of your other browsing/searching/whatever with Firefox or Safari or Opera or IE. And maybe switch your default search engine for that browser to Bing or one of those Bing/Google comparison engines or something. And have it either not keep cookies or auto-clear them on exit. Is it 100% foolproof? Absolutely not. But it's a reasonable step away from having them able to figure out every single thing you do.

I would settle for a plot that was at least somewhat plausible. Movies now seem to be just a mixture of scatological jokes and special effects that mask the fact that nothing is actually happening.

Think what you want, but I personally can't wait to witness the destructive forces of ShitStorm3D!!!

Interesting bits from the Boxee beta preview page. First it lists 'Official support for OS X "Snow Leopard" and Ubuntu "Karmic"', then it goes on to say:

Finally, Ronen notes that with the Beta release, Boxee's graphical engine has migrated from from OpenGL to DirectX, allowing it to take advantage of Direct X video acceleration.

So the "officially supported" OS X and Ubuntu versions will be running on OpenGL, but the Windows version gets full hardware acceleration by using DirectX?

Of course, there are some situations where I want maximized windows for distraction-free work, but that's pretty limited in nature (reading or writing, in the English not code sense) and many of the apps that are very text-heavy have the zoom button do a typical maximize for that precise reason.

And for the ones that don't, option-clicking the green/zoom button generally does the job.

If AGW was actually happening, there would be no need to "adjust" numbers and likewise no need to cover up the leaked emails.

So normalization of data should never happen, no matter what? Have you ever taken even the most basic of statistics classes?

This is the problem with the whole argument right here. You have people that don't have the first clue what they're talking about telling people how they're supposed to do their job.

Correct. This is a problem with some kind of valve, and is a direct analogue to a hotel that's currently closed for renovation.

I give you THEE WATERGATE! Yes, those few slabs of wood are the tidal lock at the beginning (or end) of the Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Canal (by way of Rock Creek). This is the "water gate" that the hotel across the street was named after. If it weren't for these decrepit pieces of wood, we wouldn't have all these ridiculous *gate things.

You better read that contract before you sign. Don't just lightly skim it either, read it and check the fine print.

Seriously. And if you're friendly with any lawyers, maybe run it by them quickly. It could very easily be a situation where you're responsible for paying for their travel expenses or something. Or it could be totally legit. Seek professional contract advice.
