If you modded the boiler so that it fully or semi bypassed the gas meter in order to provide cheap/free heating then the boiler manufacturer and gas companies would complain.
The prosecution argument is that modding an Xbox allows you to bypass that thing known as 'purchasing' to enable you to play games.
Another misleading tabloid headline from Taco et al.
Short story: Someone notices a perhaps too-fast result for a particular benchmark test with IE 9 and modifies the benchmark code which then throws IE 9 performance the other way. One *possible* conclusion is that MS have done some sort of hardcoding/optimisation for this test, which has been thrown out by the modifications.
Nice quote. Thankfully someone seems to understand why all this shit is happening, it's a shame those in power don't listen.
There ought to be an automatic expiry based on the activity of the account.
E.g. after 2 months inactivity the account is put on hold (no reminders/messages sent to linked friends), then after say 18 months further inactivity the account is removed.
There would still be a period of shit the relatives and friends would have to go to through with getting messages etc but at least the issue could naturally resolve itself?
Exactly, he may as well glue his iPhone to a DSLR. As well as getting much better quality images he will probably not suffer reception loss by holding his iPhone 'incorrectly'.
It would be cool if he had managed to link his phone (I'll use a generic term here) directly to the memory card slot of a DSLR, so taking a picture would go straight to the phone memory. Or alternatively use wireless transmission from the camera to automatically send the pic to his phone and from there upload it to his blog/facebook page. In fact, there's a challenge for you Android coders!
They probably could, but it is still sheer stupidity to post things like that on Facebook or any other site for that matter: Loose lips sink ships!
I didn't realise Moore's Law was purely the driving force behind CPU development and not just an observation on semiconductor development. Surely we just say Moore's Law held until a certain point, then someone else's Law takes over?
As for Phlogiston theory - it was just that, a theory which was debunked.
Trashed all our XP pc's at work this afternoon except for a few (includng me) who disabled the auto update. How did this one get past QA?
I'm from Yorkshire and I would pronounce historic as "istoric" and would, for example say "a nistoric event". I'd also pronounce hypervisor "iypervisor" or refer to one as "a nypervisor".
Northern English accents tend to not pronounce the h at the beginning of words.
I wonder if it's cheaper for standing only?
Yep, It was only 12% of the world population until he lost weight - proof thin people have more friends.
Tweeting first, what next... Spacebook?
Obviously he would say all the money was for keeping the site running, saying anything else would have harmed his case. If you look at the userbase it's easy to see how he got it - 180,000 people dropping the odd few quid over 3 years would mount up quickly.
I have mixed feelings about him walking away with all that cash. Maybe I'm just surprised and a little jealous he could rack that much money up.
Maybe he should have donated some of the excess or disabled donations once he was above running costs, I don't know. But in reality I think if any of you put yourselves in the shoes of a 23 year old with money piling in like it was for him, you'd be thinking 'fuck yeh!' - I know I would.
Do you normally ask for extra retard on your Pizza or is today special?
