Submission + - BlueGene/L Tops in Flops a Seventh Time
An anonymous reader writes: A significantly upgraded IBM BlueGene/L installation at Lawrence Livermore National Labs held on to its top spot on the list of top 500 supercomputers for a record seventh time in a row with a Linpack mark of 478.2 TFlops/s surpassing its previous mark of 280.6 TFlop/s. The previous record was held by NEC's Earth Simulator which topped the list 6 times. Argonne National Lab's BlueGene/P system moved in to the number two position with a mark of 167.3 TFlop/s. The rest of the top 5 were entries from SGI and HP.
