But I wouldn't think the extra few ms of latency would slow the data flow by 95%. In fact, I don't think it'd even be noticeable to the naked eye except for exceptional circumstances like gaming.

on the two or three occasions I couldn't get a Verizon signal, she has been able to get a good AT&T signal.
Anecdote time...
On Amtrak trains between Chicago and Carbondale, IL, Verizon seems to work almost the entire time, whereas all the other carriers have significant coverage dropouts.
On the other hand, I have issues with my cell phone in my home.

My first thought was shareware. The only "innovative" thing in this patent is a s/software/operating\ system/. I suspect this patent will be declared "obvious" and nullified if someone challenges it.
