Submission + - Original Star Wars Script found in Canadian University Library

Beardo the Bearded writes: It's Episode I, Han shot first, and Luke's last name was Starkiller. An article over at the CBC reveals that a copy of the original Star Wars script from 1976 has just been discovered by a librarian who has spent the last four months digitizing their archives.

From TFA: "Deep in the archives of the University of New Brunswick's library in Saint John, a famous movie script sat forgotten and collecting dust. It tells the tales of a galaxy far, far away — and no one knows how it got there.

Since February, Kristian Brown, a librarian, has been sifting through the library's extensive science fiction collection."

The University is planning to put it on display.

I think the only thing the OpenSSL bug shows is how flimsy the underlying framework of the internet is. Most of the shit we all use, trust and take for granted was coded in someone's basement over the weekend a long time ago. All it takes is one clever guys to take a good look at the code to exploit it, and it's probably fair to say he'll be the only one to review the code ever...

Also, as a diver I have a dedicated dive computer. (A Shearwater Petrel) My daily-wear watch is a Movado. I happen to like the minimalist look and the thin profile.

I haven't seen a diver using a "dive watch" in ... ever. My backup timepiece is a Timex Ironman my dad got me when I was a teenager.

If you intend to run Linux on your Lenovo laptop, make sure everything works without massaging drivers because YOU NEEDS TO ROOT THE BIOS to get the computer to accept a non sanctioned (i.e. bought from some other store than Lenovo) network card. My G50-45 was delivered with a Realtek card that works like crap and I haven't got the Bluetooth part to work yet. I do have an Intel 7260 to replace the network card with IF THE FUCKING COMPUTER WOULD BOOT WITH IT.

So it's super-efficient and all... if you intend to move no farther than 10 ft forward.

For greater distances, you could, say, keep the balloon constantly inflated with some kind of pump. And then, to save unnecessary weight and complication, you could do away with the balloon and let the pump shoot out the back of the vehicle directly.

I shall call my invention a hydrojet. Genius!
