Comment I'm Missing Something (Score 1) 108

So quicken gets security related data back while doing something and doesn't "gracefully" ignore it. Instead it lets the user know that something is wrong and refuses to allow anything happen. Isn't this what its supposed to do?

"Gracefully" ignoring this type of thing while potentially convenient strikes me as somewhat like ignoring buffer overruns. We all know how convenient that security related decision has been.

Submission + - Dell PC Checkup Only Supports IE on Windows

Zygamorph writes: I recently bought a Dell Desktop computer. I just went to "http://pccheckup.dellfix.com/##Dell PC Checkup" usng Firefox to do a "checkup". When you click on the "Check My Computer" it turns out they only support IE >= 5 on Windows. They also state that other configurations will be supported if there is a demand. I guess they keep track of which browsers and O/S's are hitting the URL.

I plan to check the site regularly from Firefox and/or Linux to see when or if they add more extensive support.
