With IT quickly being relied on 24/7 in almost every field, could this be a sign of things to come? Instead of carrying a pager, could IT be required to live "on campus"? Or will remote access continue to win out over hands on?
dbrossard writes: Using Portland as its first test city, the Silicon Valley search engine company is trying out a new service here first. This time it's Google Offers, a "social buying" service that evokes Groupon, Living Social and other online dealmakers.
Social buying sites feature discounts, available exclusively online. They're typically available for a limited time, or to a limited number of customers.

Did you want driving directions or 3D views like a GPS offers? This may be able to show a blip on a flat map but thats not what I use my GPS for. I use it to find addresses and businesses plus directions and phone numbers.
This does not work for me. With firefox not running I make this change. Then when I start up firefox seearch results are still on http://www.google.com/ and the data in search.json has reverted back to http removing my changes.
