well, not being a phyicist (but interested in physics), i still don't see how the size of an objects matters in relation to the effect rendered. just because an object is larger (more mass, right?), it's effect is larger as well?

there's something wrong with your math, but i'm not a mathematician so I can't point it out. however: if the price of OS Y is included in computer X's price, then doesn't Y = X? or isn't Y a sub-set of X? using your equation, Y = Y1... the only part that makes sense is X + Y1 = $$$$$ somewhere...

agreed, another case of these apples are better than those oranges. since ubuntu installs "clean" whilst m$ has 50+ "must-have" services, attempting to demonstrate a valid comparison fails mightily.
