Comment Re:QC vs FSB (Score 3, Informative) 40

When the tests of the flight sequence finally started, the flight control system reportedly was not able to score a single clean run of its entire flight program without experiencing some sort of problems.

So onboard computer which controls the flight basically did not pass any pre-flight test. "Let's try, if it fails also in real, not only during testing..."

Comment Pirates more important than customers (Score 1) 261

If pirates are more important to the company than customers, players should think twice about buying their games.

In the end it's all cat & dog and we all know how it's gonna end. DRM cracked within weeks and paying customers left unplayable when disconnected while pirates will play happily offline.

Been using opera for good 5 years, but realized, even though it's tab & download management is much superior to other browsers, chrome (and/or firefox) are just easier to get on with, because they are essentially open. If competition can be open, why can't we?

Comment Adventure is not RPG (Score 1) 480

You're mentioning Diablo 1 & 2, but those are not adventures by far.
If you are asking for good adventures, the answer is Broken Sword 1 & 2, The Longest Journey, Siberia, Gabriel Knight 3, Lost Horizon, ... these games are not necessarily new, but they are fun to play and Broken Sword especially is a game that one generation has grown up on.

If you are asking for RPG (Diablo-like games), then the answer is Fallout 1, 2, 3, Tactics; Albion (old), Final Fantasy VII, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate 2, and there are hundreds of other good RPG's - they vary in genre, so you can pick one your children prefer - fantasy, scifi, futur noir, ...
anyway, most of the RPG's are single player and include violence in more or less brutal way. If you like your children to play some good, multiplayer, non-violent game, maybe you could go for MMORPG's like Eve Online, where you don't get to (1) fights with other pilots (2) person-to-person fights; if you don't want to... You can actually play peaceful career and it's still a lot of fun.

TheWiseFinch writes: "We talk so much of love quite often, of judging others' mistakes, of forgiveness, and all that. Here I am putting down a few words about all these aspects. We come across all these in our daily lives.
There is a common saying that "love is blind". To understand the truth of this statement, we must first know which is blind, affinity or version, liking or disliking?"

Submission + - Is there a silver bullet for reactor meltdowns? 1

Aku Head writes: In the context of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, what if you could cover the overheating nuclear fuel with liquid aluminum? Aluminum is a good conductor of heat so that you could spray the aluminum with sea water to avoid melting. Would this solve the problems of decay heat and hydrogen generation? What if you alloyed the aluminum with neutron poisons such as hafnium or cadmium? Any other suggestions of something that you could cover the nuclear plant with to mitigate the problem?
