I haven't extensively used Win8, but I've tried it for a while and the thing that is the most frustrating about the new UI whatever it is called this week is the dual nature of it. If Metro can be used just as a start menu, that's fine for it, but having desktop applications and metro applications side-by-side or well, on top of each other kind of made me feel lost. I'm sure I could get used to this, but it isn't a good UI because the metro and desktop are so far philosophically from each other. I think I could even feel more comfortable with ALL windows running full screen than having a desktop feel like it's just one metro application.

The next version will also include a directional EMP device that will automatically fire at the drone. Too bad, if the Rotax it hears is a manned ultralight.

VAG cars have windows that can be opened by remote. Holding the open door locks button will roll down all the windows and holding the lock doors button will close them. Problem solved for Audi, Skoda, Seat and Volkswagen. And maybe Bugatti.

I don't think statistics work like that. If a single tire has a 5% chance of failing in 50000 miles doesn't mean that if you have 20 tires, one will fail in 50000 miles. Each of them still has individually just 5% chance of failing.

This is the way I see it. Besides, I like the fact that in the normal scenario where I'm assessing wether some chunk of data will fit the free space I can easily convert the units in my head. Will a file the size with reported size of 3221225473 fit reported free space of 3.0 gigabytes?

There are enough fingers for that. Except when we realize that we can calculate in base 2 and easily change the result to octal, we could use fingers for binary calculations.

I switched completely to Chrome soon after I got a new laptop and switched clients to one that doesn't require me to use IE or Firefox. On Win7 on an i7 with 8GB of memory, Firefox still is constantly saying "Not Responding" on the top of the window. Well, it's probably Windows that is actually saying it, but it really means it and I really can't take it. And no extensions.
