U.S. investigators have determined hackers working for North Korea were behind the Sony attack, and an announcement could come as soon as Thursday, U.S. law enforcement sources tell CNN's Evan Perez.

Because of the North Korean regime's tight control of the Internet in the reclusive country, U.S. officials believe the hack was ordered directly by the nation's leadership.

The hackers have exposed documents from Sony's servers, including personal information about celebrities and embarrassing emails from executives. They also said that people should avoid going to theaters to see "The Interview," which is about an attempt to kill North Korea's leader.

Sony on Wednesday canceled the film's December 25 release.

I almost pity the fools that made their veiled threat behind the keyboards...they will pay.

And I am always thinking that the FBI must know a lot more than they let on. Just think of all the resources the NSA has to track this down - taps into every internet trunk line in the world. Surely they can follow the trail to the perpetrators, and deliver a punishment to fit the crime in their own time. They may never even tell us about it, but somewhere, someday, some people will mysteriously meet up with a premature death. For sure the US Gov has an interest in this, above and beyond what they would have in hacks of Target & Home Depot, because the unique wanton destructiveness of the hack and the terrorists threats.

Sony may fear retaliation - far from the USA. Don't forget, they have assets in many different countries where they may be vulnerable - to more than just hacking. Perhaps they have already received threats of violent retaliation that they aren't telling us about.

But, in this particular of Sony vs. North Korea, it's pretty hard to blame a private company that's under attack from a military totalitarian state. Especially once its nose has been badly bloodied.

I get what you are saying, and it is absolutely true that people will use which ever part of the bible they want to support their position and call it Christianity. What I am saying is that you still can't compare Christianity with Islam. Even if there is a bunch of crap in the Old Testament, it still doesn't compare with the violent, sexist crap in the Quran. The fundamental difference is, people with a corrupted view of Christianity really have to stretch to find a rationalization for their behaviour. They have to reach beyond the teachings of Christ into the Old Testament that was composed several thousands of years ago and carried all that time by oral tradition before finally being written down. They also need to ignore the New Testament's spirit and meaning, which is the book they should be reading instead of the Old Testament. On the other hand, for Muslims, that violent, sexist Quran is their principle book. They don't have to stretch because the violence is right there waiting for them in the text.

Their main interest is domination of the part of the world they are in, not modernizing their economy and increasing the standard of living of its people. They couldn't give a shit about their people. All they care about is subsidizing their proxies. They are trying to close a circle around Israel, with their proxies Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas, though lately they have become discouraged with Hamas. It doesn't make any sense to develop nuclear technology when they are awash in oil, of which they have enough for both domestic use and exports to last a hundred years. There are endless option to modernize their economy without sinking all their eggs into one basket - the nuclear technology. And for nuclear energy, they certainly don't need breeder reactors that happen to make materials for nuclear bombs as a byproduct. They could use the same technology Canada employs and exports around the world, for example. Canadian-invented, pressurized heavy water reactors cannot make material for bombs.
