I can attest with that speed difference. The other day in the middle of nowhere, OK a friend and I were both loading the same videos from Youtube. I (VZW) used the specially designed Youtube app for my phone and he (ATT) was using the RTSP links from their website (I don't know how the Youtube app works so I don't know if it would affect speed). Anyhow, by the time my phone had finished downloading the video he has still only halfway done downloading the same.

Either they have no 3G coverage or one of us is color blind (well by that link alone).

The font is obviously to blame for this. Actually on my display, using Times New Roman, there's only what basically equals a single pixel difference. The stem of the n in rn is moved to the left one pixel in an m. I imagine that something similar happens with the font of your newspaper...

From my understanding of how the "Share this on Facebook" links work, wouldn't Facebook be able to block the referrer to impede these Share links from working?

Some of my school's classes are done through Cisco's Network Academy, which will only run effectively in Internet Explorer from my experience. I use Blackboard all the time under Firefox, and don't struggle to run it in Linux either.

They say it "requires Office XYZ" but what they mean is "you need to be able to create and edit Word compatible documents". Most users are going to take the statement "requires Office XYZ" literally because they don't understand the alternatives, and the people saying "requires Office XYZ" are probably even less likely to understand that there are even alternatives available.

This is something that has impressed me about my current college; all of my professors who require their students to submit works digitally have taken the time to point out that their are alternatives to Microsoft and how to get them, namely OpenOffice. Also, all the campus computers have Firefox 3 installed as the default browser, although they have Office 2007 for productivity.
