I would assume if you wanted something different, you would have voted differently. "Vandalism" is a matter of opinion,as we see here. One person's "vandalism" is another person's "cold hard facts." You can't have an encyclopedia anyone can edit without having some disputes over the content. Wikipedia is succeeding at what it set out to be. Maybe that's not what you want out of it, but it's what most of us want. There are non user edited encyclopedias out there, if that's what you want.
