Agreed. I got the pro 2 a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. I use it in meetings mostly but can do anything else (during the meeting) if needed. I can easily see it completely replacing my pc/laptop in the future.

Like everyone else is saying, you need to justify it in dollars as well as sense in detail. But when you present the case, frame it so that they can take the credit for doing it (yes, I'm serious). You both win.

You can set it up to automatically run updates at whatever time of day you want. It will turn on, update (including games) and then power itself back off after a period of inactivity. That is how I set mine and I never wait for updates anymore. That doesn't excuse the other behavior but it may help you with regards to updates.
