Can we make it an even $200 and get an AT port thrown in too? AT -> PS/2 to PS/2 -> USB converter chains are a pain in the ass on a normal day ... and when one of the converters decides to bite the dust, there's a fair chance of trashing a perfectly good keyboard (of which my stash is dwindling, though I think most of the remainder are PS/2...)

2, 3, and 4 star reviews are where the meat of the "good" reviews are (i.e. the "Look, I'm not a pro, but still I consider myself better than average. Tried using features A,B,C,D that're listed as supported, and work flawlessly on [other brand of same thing], however those features do not work on this device." ). Obviously it's not a flawless system, but usually the reviewers giving it 2-4 stars ALSO include steps for fixing problems as well -- or better ways to assemble it than what the instructions said.

Presumably the entire expanse (limited though it is) of the back of said phone. I know with mine (GS4), it tends to get hot centered at the CPU, and to a lesser degree, the battery. However, the rest of the case is generally cool. So a heat pipe putting the heat "over there" (and thus, equalizing the temperature across the entirety of the unit) wouldn't be the end of the world.

No, but I have enough IBM Model M's that when the keys start misbehaving, said malfunctioning keyboard goes into the "Beat the [PHB|HR Drone|DamnKidOnMyLawn] to Death" pile, along with a couple of vintage AT&T wall phones (you know, the ones you had to rent from AT&T) and other built to last stuff from the days when America took pride in manufacturing.
