Exactly. Though even if you didn't patent, wouldn't the dated material show prior art and prevent others from patenting.

Sometimes it's a good idea to file a preliminary patent. It's less expensive and documents when you had the idea. It also might keep someone else from patenting your idea down the road and sending you a cease and desist letter.

I used to get a kick out of just flushing an explosive device down a toilet. The crap flies out in a pattern determined by this mathematical formula...um...I had it just a moment ago.

If one watches children work their video games and examines the effects of clandestine and conventional pharmaceuticals on individuals and society, one can see that we're driving our own evolution now and in some odd directions. Our medicine allows challenged individuals the opportunity to reproduce that they would never have had. ...and just wait until genetic experimentation has chimeras walking the streets. The author of the paper is a math nerd who can actually write and communicate ideas; that's an oddity in itself.

Why can't people just keep their clothes on all the time? After all, that's why the good lord put us in clothes anyway. Froth, rant, etc.

I'm conflicted... How can I hope that IBM dries up & dies and succeeds at this simultaneously. If they succeed, even I might be able to get an IT job and on the other hand what a bunch of greedy corporate mofos.

You neglected to give your age which will have a bearing. People interviewing you for IT will be young, 20s and 30s maybe, and if you're not (40?)(50?) they'll wonder why you're not yet retired and just think you're a loser. It also depends where in the country you're looking for work. I'm in the South and it's pretty dead. The NE would be better. For the amount of time you're gonna spend you'd be better off to go to an offshore med school. Then you'd really have something.

Better still, learn to live off the grid and leave these corporations who have farmed out the tech jobs offshore and skimmed the fat off the US economy to fend for themselves. You're smart; why bust your butt for these assholes.

These snot-noses obviously still have a sense of self worth. Crush them quickly or better still farm their jobs out to India or China.
